For both ISTE communities of practice and Teacher communities of practice, an initial Professional knowledge base underpins Individual knowledge and theories of practice.
ISTE communities of practice and Teacher communities of practice meet and interact in the Third space, in which knowledge and theories are tested and applied through an inquiry approach that involves:
· boundary crossing by brokers
· joint activities
· boundary objects
· boundary practices
As a result, for both ISTE communities of practice and Teacher communities of practice, a Changed knowledge base and theories and more effective practices lead to a Changed professional knowledge base.
