Two established ways of thinking about inquiry are recognised and embedded in these learning materials: inquiry as a series of learning cycles and inquiry as a “way of being". The chapter on “Conducting Inquiry" outlines an inquiry as a series of learning cycles for ISTEs and focuses on the practical aspects of inquiry. This chapter describes some of the theoretical understandings that underpin inquiry as a way of being.
